ASAP! Presents “Children Will Listen”, A Valentine’s Weekend Cabaret Celebrating Love And Life
It takes a lot to cut through the winter chill that settles into Litchfield County in February. But on February 16, as a part Valentine’s Day weekend, ASAP! (After School Arts Program) will heat things up with a sizzling night of Cabaret that celebrates love and life. Headlining the evening, titled Children Will Listen (named after the iconic Sondheim song), are three of today’s most respected Great American Song Book interpreters: Grammy winning pianist and arranger Billy Stritch, Tony nominee and cabaret royalty Sally Mayes, and nine-time Grammy winner Cheryl Bentyne from the Manhattan Transfer. It’s a night that’s going to swing with both sass and spice.
Litchfield Distillery’s “still room,” a working space where the distillery’s signature spirits are created, will be transformed into a cozy intimate setting for the audience. The night begins with cocktails, followed by a gourmet meal from the kitchen of Community Table prior to the show.
“We’re so thrilled to provide adults in our community with an experience like no other,” said JoAnne Torti, Executive Director of ASAP!. “Our audience will be treated to exceptional talent honoring the love that it takes to raise our children with compassion, creativity, empathy, and resiliency.”
“As loyal supporters of the local arts community we are pleased to offer the Distillery as the venue for this exciting event. We applaud the work ASAP! does to inspire creativity and artistic expression in Connecticut,” said Jack Baker, Litchfield Distillery co-founder.
