Karen Chase is a photographer, writer, poet and retired photojournalist whose articles and photographs have appeared in the Kent Good Times Dispatch, the Litchfield County Times, the LCT and Passport Magazines and the on-line newspaper KentTribune.com. Her photographs have also appeared in the Waterbury Republican, the Lakeville Journal and the New Milford Spectrum.

She has exhibited at the Gallery at Noble Horizons, the Northern Exposure Gallery, the former New Mil Bank in Kent, the Merwinsville Hotel, the Kent Land Trust 2014 & 2015 annual meetings and the Kent Memorial Library. A selection of her bird photographs is currently on display at N.M. Watson Wild Bird Supply in Kent. In November of 2015 Mrs. Chase held a highly successful one-woman show titled “Natural Touch” at the Kent Art Association Gallery.

Mrs. Chase’s work has been included in three major photography exhibitions in New York City, Miami, Florida, and Paris, France. In July of 2014 five of her photographs were part of an innovative photography show that was displayed on the largest billboard in Times Square, in December of 2015 her photograph titled, ‘Winter Flood’ was included in the SCOPE Art Miami, Art Fair, one of the largest art fairs in the world and on July 13 of 2015 her photograph titled “White Jonquil” was included in a major international photography exhibit held at the Louvre Museum in Paris.

Of her approach to photography Mrs. Chase said, “I am primarily a Nature Photographer who enjoys photographing the things I find in my yard, but will photograph almost anything that finds it self in front of my camera. For example, I recently participated in two architectural photo shoots, one at a Trolley Car Graveyard in Pennsylvania and the other at the Brooklyn Bridge Park in Brooklyn, NY.”

Mrs. Chase lives in Kent in an earth-bermed house with her dog Betty. Her next exhibit will be a solo show in March and April of this year at the Kent Memorial Library in Kent. Her show is titled “The Natural World” and will include her photographs of animals, insects and landscapes, “that explore the large and small wonders of the world around us”.
