Extraordinary Botanicals
Monotypes by Heather Sandifer

Artist Heather Sandifer will exhibit her show titled “Extraordinary Botanicals” from November26, 2017 through February 6, 2018 at Carole Peck’s Good News Café Restaurant & Bar in the radio room gallery.

Heather Sandifer has created a new kind of botanical art – one that combines the hands-on technique of nature printing with those for the traditional monotype. A hunter/gatherer, she has exclusive permission to collect specimen plants for her work in some of the finest gardens on the East Coast.

Sandifer’s artwork features one of a kind, single prints off glass which are then hand embellished with watercolor, pencil, paint or other mediums, each unique.

Awarded a Certificate in Botanical Art & Illustration from the New York Botanical Garden, Heather is a textile designer and former garden writer whose art has been featured at Holly/Hunt, Chicago, David Winter Works on Paper, NY, the Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Norwalk, CT, and the Flinn Gallery, Greenwich, CT as well as other private and exhibition venues. Heather lives locally in Fairfield county and is passionate about all things botanical!

Good News Cafe is open from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Closed Tuesdays and open from 12 Noon to 10 pm Sundays.
